About us

About Gudauri 2000

Fourteen years on one mountain. Here is who we are, how we run things, and why the weather call matters more than the sales pitch.

Our story

Started with one wing and a second-hand 4x4

Experience thrills at 2,000 metres in Georgia's premier ski resort. Gudauri 2000 runs ski and snowboard instruction, paragliding, and snowmobile tours, all led by licensed experts, all on one mountain we know better than anywhere else.

We are a local team. We live and work in Gudauri through the whole season, which means the advice you get is about this mountain in these conditions, not a script. It also means we are the ones who tell you when a day is not worth flying.

The operating principle is simple: all levels and ages, a safe and genuinely friendly environment, and instructors who are qualified and experienced rather than merely present. Whether you want to get to know the ski area, sharpen a technique, or work through a fear that has been holding you back, that is the job.

The resort

The pistes are long, evenly pitched and forgiving, unusually good for learning. The terrain either side of the lift lines is what brings strong riders back: above the treeline, uncontrolled, and holding cold dry snow for days after a storm. Both facts are worth knowing before you decide what to book.

Safety measures

How we actually operate

Six things we do on every activity. Ask any operator on this mountain the same six questions.

  • 01

    Licensed instructors

Every tandem pilot is licensed and every instructor is qualified. Ask to see credentials at the meeting point and we will show you.

  • 02

    Certified equipment

Certified tandem wings and full flight equipment, snowmobiles serviced on schedule, and equipment checked before every activity.

  • 03

    Safety briefing

Nothing starts without one. A full equipment check before every launch, and a briefing before every snowmobile tour.

  • 04

    Weather protocol

Go or no-go is decided on the morning of your activity against fixed limits for wind and visibility. The limits do not move because someone drove a long way.

  • 05

    Free cancellation

If we cancel for weather you choose between a full refund and a free reschedule. There is never a fee, and we do not push flights that should not happen.

  • 06

    Seasoned guides on every tour

Snowmobile tours are led by professionals who prioritise safety and thrill in equal measure, and who know the terrain in every condition.

Our instructors

Who you will be with

Licensed tandem pilots and qualified ski and snowboard instructors who work this mountain every season.

  • All levels and ages

First time on snow or years into it, six years old or sixty, lessons and tours are streamed to the people actually in them.

  • Safe, fun and friendly

A relaxed environment where nobody is rushed and nobody is made to feel out of their depth. Safety first, but not solemn.

  • Qualified & experienced instructors

Licensed pilots and qualified instructors who do this for a living, season after season, on this specific mountain.

  • Get to know the ski area

Gudauri is big and largely unmarked once you leave the pistes. We show you where to go and, just as usefully, where not to.

  • Improve your technique

Not just supervision, actual coaching. Most guests fix something in a single session that they had been carrying for years.

  • Eliminate your fear

The thing standing between most people and a good day on the mountain is nerves. Working through that is part of the job.

Want to know a specific instructor's certification before you book? Ask us, we will tell you who you are with and what they hold.

Getting here

Getting to Gudauri

Gudauri sits 120 km north of Tbilisi on the Georgian Military Highway, about two hours in good conditions, longer after snow on the Jvari Pass. There are four realistic options: the marshrutka from Didube station (~15 GEL), a shared taxi (25 to 35 GEL per person), a private transfer (150 to 220 GEL per car) or driving yourself.

If you drive, make sure your rental actually has winter tyres, many Tbilisi rentals do not, and the pass is not somewhere to find out. Whichever you choose, travel in the morning: clearing happens early, and a road closure with the whole day ahead of you is a very different problem to one at dusk.
