How Many Hours of Lessons Do You Actually Need?
Two hours or six, one day or five, solo or in a group. What each option realistically gets you, and what it costs in Gudauri.

This is the question we get more than any other, usually from someone who has never stood on snow and has four days in Georgia. Here is the honest answer, and what it costs.
The prices, plainly
| Duration | Individual | Group of 2 to 5 |
|---|---|---|
| 2 hours | 270 GEL | 200 GEL each |
| 3 hours | 380 GEL | 20% discount applies |
| 4 hours | 500 GEL | 20% discount applies |
| 5 hours | 600 GEL | 20% discount applies |
| 6 hours | 720 GEL | 20% discount applies |
Individual prices are per person. The group rate is for two to five people learning together, and sessions longer than two hours carry a 20% discount. You can book ski, snowboard, or both, across one to six days.
If you have one day
Take a two or three hour individual lesson in the morning. Three hours is the sweet spot for a complete beginner, long enough to get past the frustrating part, short enough that your legs still work afterwards. Expect to be making controlled turns on gentle terrain by the end.
If you have three or four days
This is where multi-day booking earns its money. Two or three hours a day across consecutive days beats one long session, because the muscle memory consolidates overnight. Most people finish a three-day block riding blue runs comfortably.
- Day one: balance, stopping, first turns
- Day two: linked turns on gentle terrain
- Day three: real slopes, and the point most people start enjoying it
- Day four onwards: technique rather than survival
Solo or group?
Solo progresses roughly twice as fast, because nobody is waiting on anybody. Group is far better value and, if you are travelling together, considerably more fun, the shared misery of day one is a bonding experience. Groups are two to five people.
If you have one weekend and want to leave able to ride, book individual. If you have a week and you are with friends, book group and put the difference towards more days.
What about experienced riders?
Lessons are not just for beginners, and this is the most underused thing we offer. Two hours with an instructor who knows the mountain will get you to terrain you would not have found alone, and will usually fix a technique problem you have been carrying for years. Select Intermediate or Advanced when you book.
Common questions

You can learn to control your speed, stop, and make basic turns on gentle terrain in one three-hour session. You will not be skiing red runs. Three consecutive days is what it usually takes to feel genuinely comfortable.
No, the lesson price covers instruction. Skis, boards and boots are rented separately in the village, and lift passes are sold by the resort.
